Monsters of the Id
...this was the 'toon I used when we had that class at the library for the 4th-5th graders; we showed them how to use the tablet (to add color using PhotoShop), the stages of drawing a 'toon and so forth -- some of the coloring the kids did (esp. for the flames coming out of the screen and the drawing on the fridge) I kept - so this is a collaboration...

Guns and Gardens and a Happy Ending...
...And this concludes the run of corVallis Vanities in The Alchemist Weekly, our very local alternative weekly that is unfortunately ceasing publication today. A good article that covers this event is at:

...And I wish these talented folks well. As for me and my toons, oddly enough after I heard that the Alchemist was closing I still kept drawing toons -- it's a habit, I think, difficult to just drop. And I've found I enjoy each step of the process -- coming up with the idea, the sketching of the layout, the inking, and so forth -- each process exercises the mind in slightly different ways. So I might try to do something else with these little stories, and will post them here periodically...
