There's a tempest in a teapot in our small town about the intersection of West Hills and 53rd -- it's due for some sort of traffic control, but the traffic engineers want a roundabout, and almost everyone else thinks that will bring on Chaos and Destruction the likes of which stagger the mind, and they're rooting for a stoplight.
