...another editorial 'toon for the Gazette-Times, in todays' edition. There's a tempest in a teapot in our small town about the intersection of West Hills and 53rd -- it's due for some sort of traffic control, but the traffic engineers want a roundabout, and almost everyone else thinks that will bring on Chaos and Destruction the likes of which stagger the mind, and they're rooting for a stoplight. ANYway, here's the Perfect Solution...

Roundabouts can work well. It just requires a smidgen - well, no actually, a massive amount - of driver education.
They work OK in Europe. Therefore, they will be a Compleat & Utter Catastrophe if used in the Exceptional States of America.
Yes, no one in the UK seemed to have any problems as we drove thru roundabout after roundabout, so I think in the US we'd just have a whopping big pileup, which we'd then pave over and put in a proper stoplight...
